Although this has been several weeks past due, I still feel the need to express this.
As some of you have known (ToTo), my eyes were opened on the day of March 6th, 2009 at approximately 5:45PM. The lengthy and arduous winter quarter had instilled in me a sense of false beauty and fallen hopes, but that changed when I encountered a goddess. To put it in simple words, I saw a girl who could make fish forget to swim, birds fall from the sky, the moon shy away in embarrassment, and the most beautiful flowers lose their pedals in shame. She was indeed the epitome of beauty. The first thing that I noticed about her were her eyes, which is the first thing I take notice when I meet someone, because a person's eyes is the window to their soul. Secondly I noticed her short black hair cupping her perfect face, as she walked by. Nevertheless, before me was a confident, yet reserved female. Our eyes met as she got off her train, and the chilly breeze that blew was no more as I was filled with fiery passions. Unfortunately, our encounter was cut short by the arrival of my train. After an exchange of glances, I had to depart despite wanting to stay.
But this encounter brought back hope, and for those guys reading this, I guarantee you there still exists beauty at UChicago and in Hyde Park. Although it may seem that all hope is loss (as I had lost but a minor fragment of hope), I realized that regardless of the situation, one should make the best out of it, and most importantly look on the bright side and have hope. As my hopes were dwindling and thoughts misconstruing, I was reconfirmed by her that the sun does indeed rise in the East.
